Re: Horten VII bodenstart fähig
Hi Alex,
Thanks for you very kind words! I'm trying very hard to make Horten designs available to model builders. Especially in the US where people haven't typically been building and flying many Horten designs. I'm making my Ho IIIe/IIIb and Ho VII drawings available free of charge. See here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre ... +available) for details. So assuming my plane flies well feel free to take the drawings and make any changes you want for your plane.
The laser...I've build a DIY CNC router so I can tell you that the laser isn't really any more complicated. In some ways it's actually simplier. I love my laser!
Brian

Re: Horten VII bodenstart fähig
Hello Alex. Brian,
I am also thinking about a laser. Have already bought a DIY router from a friend. Both machines have their advantages.
If its just about cutting plywood the laser is in my opinion the better solution (tooling, burrs ....).
for 3D the mill will be in front.
Just contacted a friend in china to look around.
Alex, if you will scale the design you should have a look for the wing bent. (Glockenkurve)

Drawings? Sure. Send me a pm with your email address. The drawings will probably need to be in a zip file containing several vector based pdf files.

The Ho VII flew this weekend. She flies well however the steering on the ground isn't good. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures or video.

Hello brian,
congrats with the maiden. Was it difficult, flying with two engines? did you do that before?

Hello Peter,
Flying with two engines isn't difficult as long as both are running. I've had a twin engine Ho Vc before.

Hello Harald,
I'll try to get some pictures taken and posted soon.
Unfortunately Florida is not close. It's actually about as far away from me as you can get in the contiental US.
Here's where I'm at: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.682836 ... 3&t=h&z=17.

Re: Horten VII bodenstart fähig
morning Brian,
Very nice place you´ve got.
With real planes at the neighbours´ lawn. do they tow those to the strip or at own power?

Peter,
The planes can taxi out on their own power to the runway.
